Due to the huge success and positive feedback from racers, sponsors, volunteers and race officials, Millersburg is geared to once again host the 5th Annual Tour de Millersburg on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14, 2011. Last year we registered 275 racers. Some of our racers hailed from New Zealand. We’re anticipating that this year will be even more successful.

Please consider becoming a part of this premiere cycling stage race. We are a 501c3 charitable organization, so contributions are tax deductible. Several sponsorship options are available:

The Tour will begin at 7:30am on Saturday 8/13 with the Time Trial, extending north of town along the river, and continues at 12:00pm with the Criterium, a loop through the middle of the borough. This year’s Crit Race, will be named in honor of Millersburg bike enthusiast “Cataldo Muggio”. Also the Police Chase race is back.

Sunday 8/14 holds another full day of competition with the Road Race stage from 8am until approximately 3pm with awards being presented to each category’s winners as the final results are posted in the Gazebo in Market Square Park.

This will also be the 2nd year the Tour de Millersburg Volunteer College Scholarship will be available for Millersburg Area High School students that volunteer with the Tour. The remaining proceeds from the 2011 Tour de Millersburg will be awarded to community organizations through an application process. In 2010 over $12,000 was given back to the local community, including the Millersburg and Wiconisco Ambulance Companies, Millersburg Fire Company, Millersburg Swimming Pool, Police Force, Dauphin County Library System and the Special Olympics to name a few.
